The Riverbrook Regional YMCA is offering the YMCA Blood Pressure Management Program a program designed to help participants with hypertension lower their blood pressure through an evidence-based program that combine four elements:

Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring
Physical Activity Tracking
Nutrition Education
and Personalized Support

DID YOU KNOW?
Research shows that the simple process of checking and recording your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months may lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure.

For a small investment of time, participants receive:

  • A simple, evidence-based program that may lower blood pressure
  • Personalized support from a Y Healthy Heart Ambassador
  • Tips for maintaining cardiovascular health
  • Access to select Y group physical activity classes
  • Monthly nutrition education seminarsTo qualify for participation in this Program:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be diagnosed with high blood pressure
  • Must not have experienced a recent cardiac event
  • Must not have Atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias
  • Must not be at risk for lymphedema
