Community Outreach
The Wilton Family Y prides itself on being an integral part of our community. We strive to share our human and physical resources with other agencies and organizations who can benefit from collaborations with the Y. Every year, the Y works with groups such as the Wilton Public Schools, the Town of Wilton, Rotary, Kiwanis, Woman's Club, Wilton Education Foundation, Little League, Red Cross, United Way, STAR, the Wilton Library, Scout troops, the Chamber of Commerce, churches and synagogues, Senior Council, Youth Services, and veterans in an effort to make the quality of life in our town the best it can be.
Open to All
Wilton Family Y programs are open to everyone regardless of ability or financial situation. Our philosophy is non-competitive and we are committed to inclusion - each individual can have fun progressing at his/her own pace in all Y classes and realize the maximum benefit possible from their experiences at the Y.
Y programs offer enjoyable social experiences for all members of the family, as well as skill building opportunities like swimming, gymnastics, sports and games. Every member the Y services faces his/her own personal challenges, physically and mentally, to one degree or another, and the Y is prepared to support each of them. For more information on Special Needs programs, please contact Gloria Bass, Special Needs Coordinator, at x207.
The Wilton Family Y Fund For Community Service
In order to fulfill our mission to the community of remaining affordable for the average person and accessible to everyone, the Wilton Family Y must allocate almost $500,000 each year for outreach programs and financial assistance to enable children to attend summer camp, senior citizens to participate in health and wellness activities, adults to rehabilitate from accidents or illnesses, and families to spend quality time together at the Y. Every year, the need for Y programs and services grows, and some of those requiring help are probably your neighbors.
The Fund for Community Service must be replenished each year to continue these outreach programs and aid to needy families.
YOU can make a difference and help the Y build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by making a donation to the Y's Annual Appeal, which is the primary source of replenishment for the Fund for Community Service.
