The Wilton Family YMCA is offering the YMCA Blood Pressure Management Program a program designed to help participants with hypertension lower their blood pressure through an evidence-based program that combine four elements: Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Physical Activity Tracking Nutrition Education and Personalized Support DID YOU KNOW? Research shows that the simple process of checking and recording your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months may lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. Y-FIT The Wilton YMCA is introducing a six-week program for Y members ages 16 and older that’s designed to help them improve their health and wellness the RIGHT way. Called Y-FIT, this complimentary program is being offered to all new Y members who have joined the Y in the past 30 days and will be ongoing. Current members are also welcome to take part in this program. Over the six-week span, a Y Wellness Coach will take the member through a progressive program centered on nutrition, strength training, and cardiovascular health as well as stress management techniques.
