From our President
Welcome to our Wilton Family Y! We continue to be the destination of choice for over 9,000 adults, families and children - our facility is humming with activity all day long.

Our recent selection as a recipient of the YMCA of the USA’s “Pioneering Healthy Communities” grant (through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) is exciting news as it ensures that over the next few years and beyond we will be working closely with the entire Wilton community (town, businesses, schools, etc.) on ‘healthy’ initiatives that go well beyond the walls of 404 Danbury Road. Our Y was selected for this prestigious grant because of the collaborative way in which our various public and private agencies currently work together. We look forward to enhancing our work with these groups as we take ‘healthy lifestyles’ to a whole new level in Wilton.

We also want to thank all of our generous donors who took our Fund for Community Service Annual Appeal well over its goal for the year. What does this mean? Simply that these additional funds allow us to provide financial assistance to the unprecedented number of families and individuals who have needed help during these challenging times. Through the generosity of our donors we are able to fulfill our mission of being accessible to all.

Finally, over the next few months, the Board of Directors, the Advisory Trustees, and Y staff will be working together to update the 2005-2010 Long Range Plan for our Y. The resulting document will guide the work of the Board and staff as they work with a business model that maximizes our ability to serve our community. More on this effort as our work progresses.

Thanks to all our valued Y members for your continued support of the Wilton Family Y!

Lisa Bogan, President
Wilton Family Y Board of Directors

2009 Wilton Community Celebration – Harvest de Provence
190 people came out this past Saturday evening to Celebrate Volunteerism and OUR Y. Congratulations to our 2009 Distinguished Citizens Louise Herot and Zelie and Andy Pforzheimer. The impact of each of these individuals truly has made a positive difference in the quality of life of OUR community. Our Y is proud to have the privilege of honoring such outstanding people.

During our evening all of our attendees had the opportunity listen to a testimony provided by Patti and Ken Sylvia that warmed our hearts as they shared their story of how our Y has supported their two special needs children.

The newly re-modeled Rolling Hills Country Club was dazzling and thanks to our spectacular Celebration Committee the food, fellowship, auction and dancing were superb.

My heartfelt thanks go out to:
Our Event Sponsor: The Wilton Bank and Nicki Brown
Our Committee Members: Karen Morneau, Ashley Gouveia, Nina Morrissey, Shelly Osterberg, Lelei Coyle and Tracy Taylor
Our Auctioneer: DJ Edgerton
Our Distinguished Citizen Award Presenter: Bob Russell
Our Staff and other volunteers led by Cindy Erickson: Ann Billik, Micki Paradise, Nancy Schlichting, Diana LeVander, Michelle Wishna, Gloria Bass, Pam Lucas, Karen Strickland, AJ Lucas and Ray Erickson
Our Y Program Presenters: Patti and Ken Sylvia
The Welcome Address: Lisa Bogan

As a result of this event, many more children and families in need of financial assistance and outreach programs will be able to participate in healthy Y activities because of the funds raised at the Celebration. The Y never turns anyone away due to inability to pay or special need, and it is only through the generous support of the community that we can remain open and accessible to everyone.

Executive Director
